‘Fauna Somnia’ is a video artwork that builds upon my previous work, ‘Erinnerst du dich?’.
It juxtaposes footage of animals in both natural and human-made urban environments. The dreamlike audio incorporates thought-provoking quotes by Donna J. Haraway, Jacques Derrida, and Joan Jonas, all challenging the artificial divide between humans and animals. While Nature takes centre stage as the main subject, the human presence remains latent and marginal, primarily evoked through the audio.
