‘The Widow’ is a sculpture that represents a guillotine made by parts of an easel.
Nicknamed as “La Veuve” — “The Widow” — the guillotine is often associated with the idea of castration. This gloomy reference is juxtaposed with the fact that the materials come from an easel and the double meaning of the inability of a convicted to think without his head —therefore to live.
