‘Often, Living Can Be the Most Arduous Action That an Artist Tries to Perform’ is a piece conceived for the centenary of Joseph Beuys’ birth. This large-format image depicts an enigmatic assemblage of ephemeral objects enlarged by using the photographic medium. The rolled rubber band mounted on this precarious yet totemic structure evokes the German artist’s characteristic hat. The paper clamp present in the composition is also used as a structural element to hang the artwork.
