‘Often, Living Can Be the Most Arduous Action That an Artist Tries to Perform’ is a piece conceived for the centenary of Joseph Beuys’ birth. This large-format image depicts an enigmatic assemblage of ephemeral objects enlarged through the use of the photographic medium. The rolled rubber band mounted on this imposing yet totemic structure symbolises the iconic hat of the German artist. The paper clamp present in the composition serves as a structural element to suspend the artwork.
