‘Die zehn Gebote’ —‘The Ten Commandments’— is a work composed by ten postcards stolen from the bookshop of the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin and sent to Italy.
Each postcard represents a painting of Picasso and is marked with a black cross, a signature and a fingerprint. The work reflects on the popular plagiarism of Art’s images: stealing Art’s pictures is considered a proper sinning.
The operation is documented in its time-specific moment by the postal envelops.
