‘Crappy Sheet’ is an ephemeral work that tautologically plays with the meaning of a painting between the ambiguity of the words “sheet” and “shit”.
The sheet/shit is a piece of paper stained with ink and shows all the lyricism of its medium, in deep contrast with the simplified justification as an artwork: paint that stands alone in itself. By an explicit evocation of Abstract Expressionism, what sustains this kind of painting —and this work— is the undoubted faith in the idea of Painting.
